Remote Pro Tuning / E-Tuning Procedures for COBB Accessport

ProTune/E-Tune Datalogging Instructions and Disclaimer For COBB Accessport Use


Thank you for choosing M-Engineering for your ProTuning/E-Tuning needs via the COBB Accessport. To ensure the best calibration experience, please follow the below instructions.

Disclaimer: You accept responsibility and risks of any tunes and added features by M-Engineering. If you are not the end user of the car, you will be solely responsible for notifying the purchaser and/or customer that they also accept the responsibility and risks of these and M-Engineering is not liable. M-Engineering is also not liable for voided warranties due to installation of our products. Our pricing is good for one map based on your parts configuration and fuel. We will provide revisions for that map until both parties are satisfied with the tuning results based on datalogs and feedback. Any hardpart changes or additional octane tunes require an additional ProTuning applicable charge as the tuning process will need to be repeated. There are NO refunds for any reason for E-Tunes and ProTunes.  

If you are choosing to remote tune and use/rent a dyno, please notify us of any scheduling that requires our attention so that we can plan accordingly. M-Engineering is not responsible for lost dyno rental time.  

Instructions:

  1. Install the COBB Accessport and flash the closest applicable map. Please contact M-Engineering if you need assistance choosing a map or installing. Once the Accessport is installed on the vehicle, the device will have the known ROM ID for the vehicle’s specific ECU.

  2. Send the map you flashed on the car to your dedicated email chain or to info@m-engineering.us. You can retrieve the map file via Accessport Manager on your computer. It will be labeled as a “.ptm” file. A link to download Accessport Manager is here.

  3. M-Engineering will then email you back a “base map” to flash onto your vehicle. Using Accessport Manager, load the new map onto the device and flash the map onto the vehicle.

  4. Unless otherwise instructed, we simply need a 3rd gear pull, WOT (wide open throttle) all the way to redline while you datalog. Instructions on how to datalog are located here.

  5. Send us back the datalog from Accessport Manager, give us any feedback if needed, and we will then follow up with a revision. We will repeat this step until satisfied with the calibration results.  

 

  • If you are street tuning the car, you need to have traction control turned OFF. Failure to turn off traction control will result in throttle closures and inconsistent data. Drive safely and on a closed course only.  

  • If you are tuning on the dyno, the car must be in “Dyno Mode” which is activated using a Porsche PIWIS tool. Failure to use dyno mode will cause throttle closure and inconsistent data. Dyno charts will also read low.
