Follow the below instructions at your own risk. We are not responsible for damages. If you don’t feel comfortable removing the module on your own take it to a shop!

When the PDK2 module is removed from your car DO NOT START YOUR VEHICLE OR KEY-ON. You will need to make sure your car is parked and in a position where you don’t need to move it until you’ve reinstalled it.

Tools Needed

  • Masking Tape

  • Ratchet

  • T25 Torx Bit (some models have a T30 Torx instead)

  • 16mm socket

Instructions

Step 1: Working Space and Protection

Fold in the driver and passenger seat and move them all the way forward. This will give you the most room to work. Using masking tape, protect the arm rest AND the leather that meet the back seat shelf.

Step 2: Remove Lumbar Pads

Now remove the lumbar pads on both sides. They are velcro’d to the rear carpet. Simply pull the lumbar support pads towards the front of the car until the velcro becomes unattached and then pull upward.

Step 3: Remove Seat Belt Receptacles

Pull the seat belt receptacle covers away from the base of the buckle insert. You may need to tug in a few different directions to massage them out of place. Just take your time and be gentle yet firm. Once the covers are removed, you can use your 16mm socket to unbolt the receptacles from the chassis. You will need to do this to both sides. The receptacles will stay in the car as there is a cable connecting them. We are simply unbolting them so they have some movement.

REMOVAL UPDATE: At this step, you can unplug the seatbelt electronics and remove the belt receptacles completely. This actually makes the next step4 a bit easier when you’re trying to remove the full leather seat bottom.

Step 4: Seat Bottom Removal

This step makes it obvious why we used masking tape to cover the leather in Step 1. There are some “sharp” pieces on the bottom of the seat cushion as well as some staples. You will need to use some force to push the cushion upwards. Be gentle and firm and it will pop out of place. You can noodle the seat belt receptacles out of place to weave through the cushion. When pulling the cushion out of the car be mindful that it doesn’t touch anything and scratch your interior!

Step 5: Removal of PDK2 Module

The PDK2 module is located on the driver (left hand) side under the carpet. You will need to simply pull away the carpet to view the module. There are 3x T30 Torx bolts holding down the module. Remove these three bolts and then you can move the module in a position to where you can unplug the harness.

The PDK2 module has a plastic case that you can remove easily. Please remove this before shipping.

Step 6: Mail us the PDK Module

Send us the PDK Module. MAKE SURE TO INCLUDE YOUR CONTACT INFORMATION AND RETURN ADDRESS AS WELL AS ANY NOTES FOR US. We will need to know things like your mods/mapping you are running on the car. Payment must be made before we can send the PDK2 module back to you. We always use next-day air return shipping in the lower 48 unless otherwise noted.

Send the PDK2 to this address:

M-ENGINEERING
3460 NW 27th Avenue
Unit D7
Pompano Beach, FL 33069

Reinstallation is reverse of install. Enjoy!

It may take a few miles of regular gentle driving for the clutches and points in the transmission to “relearn” after flashing. Features like “no creep” will become active after this time as well. We recommend 5 miles of this driving before going all-out.

If you accidentally keyed the car on while the PDK module was out of the car, you may get a warning message on the dashboard and the transmission stuck in P. Using M-Tuner, perform a “Clear Faults” and the message will go away and you can safely drive.
